Real-time TV dashboards from the SQL you already have

Your databases. Every screen.

DemoWall turns the Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and MariaDB databases you already run into big-screen boards for the sales floor, the support queue and the warehouse — readable from across the room, updated within seconds, and run by your ops team without a developer.

A made-up retailer with four databases and 23 saved queries, polled live on the server.

    > TV boards

Built to be read from across the room

    • Big numbers that count up: as they change, and turn amber or red when they cross a threshold.
    • Leaderboards that slide: when someone overtakes — with a flash on every new sale and a pop when the #1 changes.
    • Charts against the plan: shipped per hour vs plan, SLA per minute vs target, today vs the same day last week.
    • Honest when data is late: if a database slows down, its widgets say “stale” instead of showing old numbers as new.
    > Query editor

    Write SQL. Press Run.

    • An SQL editor in the browser: with highlighting and a schema browser — click a column to insert it.
    • Visual mode: for people who don’t write SQL: pick a table, tick the columns, set Top N.
    • Run shows the rows at once: with the time it took — and the database’s own error if something is wrong.
    • “Add as widget”: suggests a leaderboard, KPI or chart from the shape of the result. Pick a board; the wall updates.
    > One wall per team

Any SQL source, any big screen

    • Each board mixes databases: the dialer on MSSQL, orders on MariaDB, the warehouse system on MySQL — side by side.
    • Every query on its own clock: calls waiting every second, revenue every ten, month-to-date every hour.
    • Any TV with Chrome: in kiosk mode. The board’s URL is its key — nothing to log into on the wall.
    • Phones get a stacked layout: so a manager can glance at the floor from anywhere.
    > Alerts

When a number goes red, the right people hear

    • Conditions on the query result: SLA under 80 %, more than 8 callers waiting, a new #1 on the leaderboard, dispatch behind plan.
    • To Telegram and Slack: per team — the message says what broke, by how much, and which board to look at.
    • Cleared automatically: when the number recovers, with how long it lasted. Cooldowns stop flapping.
    • Source health too: a database that slows down or stops answering is an alert, not a mystery.
    > Admin for non-developers

Your ops team runs it — not IT

    • Sources: with a “Test connection” button: server, database, a read-only user. Credentials stored encrypted.
    • Widgets: leaderboards, KPI cards, gauges, goal bars, bar and line charts, tables, tickers.
    • Dashboards: on a 12 × 6 grid, with a virtual TV that shows the real board at 1080p, 4K or on a phone.
    • A live scheduler view: every query run, how long it took, and whether anything changed.

    > How it works

From your database to every screen, in seconds

Nothing to install on your database servers. DemoWall connects with a read-only user and runs each saved query on its own interval — 1 s for a queue, an hour for month-to-date. Only changes travel to the screens.

    01

    Read-only by design

Every source uses a SELECT-only database user, so writes are impossible at the database. Queries are also checked to be a single SELECT before they are saved.

    02

    Only changes travel

Each result is hashed. Screens hear about a query only when its rows changed, and a TV that just switched on gets the cached snapshot instantly.

    03

    Polling, not plumbing

No change-data-capture, no triggers on your tables, no message bus to run. It works with databases you don’t own and can’t modify.

    04

    Survives the real world

Kiosks reconnect by themselves, every query has a timeout, and a slow source shows up as “stale” on the wall and as an alert.

    05

    Your sign-in for desks

Desk boards sign in with Active Directory, with access granted per board by AD group, plus local break-glass accounts. The admin stays on the internal network.

    06

    Self-hosted

One small server with PostgreSQL for configuration and Redis for fan-out. Your data and database credentials never leave your network.

Why it fits a team like yours

    Uses the databases you have

Your dialer, shop, helpdesk and warehouse system already know the numbers. No data warehouse project before the first screen goes up.

    No BI licence per screen

Put boards on as many TVs as you like. A TV and a Chrome stick is the whole bill of materials.

    Non-technical admins

Team leads change titles, thresholds, layouts and boards themselves. Someone who knows SQL writes the query once.

    Readable from ten metres

Large type, high contrast, colour that means something. Designed on real sales floors, not in a slide deck.

    Alerts where people talk

Telegram groups and Slack channels per team. The alert links to the board, and tells you when it’s over.

    Shows its own health

Every query run, latency per source, stale widgets flagged — so nobody makes a decision on yesterday’s number.
