Published European price ranges for 2026, and what moves your quote

MSSP Pricing in Europe (2026): What Managed Security, SOC and MDR Cost

In Europe, a managed SOC or MDR service is usually priced at €10 to €35 per monitored endpoint or asset per month, and a managed SOC retainer at €5,000 to €20,000 or more per month. Managed IT from an MSP has a global median of $100 to $150 per user per month, and a fractional CISO costs roughly €1,050 to €1,950 a day. Few providers publish prices, so these are ranges from published benchmarks, not quotes. What you actually pay depends mostly on what is in scope and whether the provider stops attacks or only reports them.

In short: there is no public European price list for managed security. Providers quote after scoping your environment, and no survey publishes a true European median. What does exist is a handful of published benchmarks. They agree more than you might expect: endpoint-level detection and response clusters around €20 per endpoint per month, and the price rises with every surface you add (cloud, identity, SaaS) and with the authority you give the provider to contain an attack.

The table collects the published ranges we could verify at the source in October 2026. The "typical" column is the midpoint of each range, a planning figure rather than a market median. Prices are shown in the currency each source uses, without conversion.

Managed SOC, MDR and MSSP pricing

Three independent sources land in the same place for detection and response. Q-Sec’s 2026 European pricing guide puts managed SOC services at €10 to €35 per asset per month. The MDR Providers directory, which tracks 115 providers, puts MDR at $8 to $35 per endpoint per month. Falconer Security puts SOC as a service for small and mid-sized businesses at $10 to $25 per monitored asset per month. The midpoints sit between roughly 17 and 23 in each currency, so about €20 per endpoint per month is a fair planning figure for endpoint-level coverage.

Monthly retainers are the other common model. Q-Sec puts a managed SOC retainer in Europe at €5,000 to €20,000 or more per month, and a co-managed SOC, where the provider works alongside your own analysts, at €8,000 to €30,000 or more. Falconer reports that most small and mid-sized businesses land at $5,000 to $12,000 per month on a standard tier, and estimates that an equivalent in-house SOC costs $1 million to $2 million a year.

Watch what the base price covers. The MDR Providers directory notes that cloud, identity and log ingestion may sit outside a provider’s base price. A full MSSP program (MDR plus firewall and SIEM management, vulnerability management and compliance reporting) costs more than endpoint-only MDR because it does more, so compare quotes on scope, not on the headline rate.

Worked example: 100 employees, 120 endpoints

At €10 to €35 per asset, endpoint-level managed SOC coverage for 120 endpoints comes to about €1,200 to €4,200 a month, with a midpoint near €2,700. Managed IT for the same 100 people at the $100 to $150 median comes to about $10,000 to $15,000 a month. These are arithmetic on published ranges, not quotes; your price depends on scope.

Managed IT (MSP) pricing

Managed IT is almost always priced per user per month. Kaseya’s Global MSP Benchmark 2025, which includes a UK and European sample, puts the median at $100 to $150 per user per month, as reported by Compare the Cloud. The same UK guide describes three tiers: basic monitoring, patching and help desk at £30 to £50; a mid tier that adds EDR, 24/7 monitoring and compliance support at £50 to £80; and fully managed IT with vCIO advice at £80 to £150. The guide also notes that UK providers do not publish rate cards, which makes like-for-like comparison hard.

Fractional CISO (vCISO) pricing by country

Bar chart: midpoint of published fractional CISO day rates in 2026. Netherlands €1,550, Germany €1,500, Belgium €1,475, France €1,425. Source: Fractionista.

Fractionista’s 2026 rate benchmark puts senior fractional CISO day rates at €1,100 to €1,900 in Germany, €1,150 to €1,950 in the Netherlands, €1,100 to €1,850 in Belgium, €1,050 to €1,800 in France and £1,200 to £2,000 in the UK. One to two days a week works out at roughly €4,500 to €16,000 a month. For comparison, the same guide puts a full-time CISO’s base salary in Europe at €130,000 to €260,000, before benefits and bonus.

Incident response retainers

Retainers buy a guaranteed response time and a set number of hours before you need them. Published European prices are rare. InfoSec Group in Sofia lists retainers from €5,000 a year, typically €5,000 to €10,000 including an annual tabletop exercise, which is one provider’s price rather than a market average. Check how many hours are included, what the overage rate is, and whether unused hours can be spent on readiness work.

What drives your price

  • Scope — how many users, endpoints, servers and cloud accounts are monitored, and whether identity, SaaS and network logs are included.
  • Response authority — whether the provider only alerts you, guides your response, or contains threats itself.
  • Service levels — response times per severity, after-hours coverage and named contacts.
  • Log retention and data location — longer retention and EU-only storage cost more.
  • Compliance work — evidence and reporting for SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIS2 or DORA audits.
  • Contract term — 12-month terms and minimum endpoint counts are common.

How to compare MSSP quotes

  • 1. Put every quote on the same unit: cost per endpoint per month, with the same endpoint count.
  • 2. List what each quote includes and excludes: cloud, identity, SaaS, log ingestion, onboarding and incident hours.
  • 3. Compare response authority and SLAs, not just monitoring hours.
  • 4. Ask for the total for 12 months, including onboarding and any minimum commitment.
  • 5. Check exit terms — you should keep your logs, detections and configurations.

RHC Solutions has run IT and security operations since 1994. We do not publish a price list, because two companies with the same headcount can need very different coverage. We scope your environment first, then quote a fixed monthly fee for managed security, a managed SOC, managed IT or a fractional CISO, so you know the cost before the service starts.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an MSSP cost in Europe?
Published European benchmarks put a managed SOC or MDR service at €10 to €35 per monitored asset per month, and a managed SOC retainer at €5,000 to €20,000 or more per month (Q-Sec, 2026). A full MSSP program that also manages firewalls, SIEM, vulnerabilities and compliance reporting costs more than endpoint-only coverage. Providers quote after scoping, so get quotes on the same scope.
What is the typical MDR price per endpoint?
About €20 per endpoint per month is a fair planning figure. The midpoints of three published ranges sit near that level: €10 to €35 (Q-Sec, Europe), $8 to $35 (MDR Providers directory) and $10 to $25 (Falconer Security). Cloud, identity and log ingestion may cost extra.
How much do managed IT services cost per user?
Kaseya’s Global MSP Benchmark 2025 puts the median at $100 to $150 per user per month. In the UK, basic plans run £30 to £50, mid-tier plans with EDR and 24/7 monitoring £50 to £80, and fully managed IT with vCIO advice £80 to £150 (Compare the Cloud, 2026).
How much does a fractional CISO cost in Europe?
Senior fractional CISO day rates run about €1,050 to €1,950 in continental Europe and £1,200 to £2,000 in the UK. One to two days a week costs roughly €4,500 to €16,000 a month, against a full-time CISO base salary of €130,000 to €260,000 (Fractionista, 2026).
Is it cheaper to outsource the SOC than to build one?
For most small and mid-sized companies, yes. Falconer Security estimates an equivalent in-house SOC at $1 million to $2 million a year, while most SMBs pay $5,000 to $12,000 a month for SOC as a service. Staffing 24/7 in-house needs several analysts across shifts before tooling.
